VESAK FULL MOON DAY
Vesākha (Pali; Sanskrit: Vaiśākha), also known as Buddha Purnima and Buddha Day, is a holiday observed traditionally by Buddhists. It commemorates the Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinirvāna of Gautama Buddha.
KATINA ROBE OFFERING
Kathina is a Buddhist festival which comes at the end of Vassa, the three-month rainy season retreat for Theravada Buddhists. The season during which a monastery may hold Kathina is one month long, beginning after the full moon of the eleventh month in the Lunar calendar (usually October).
It is a time of giving, for the laity to express gratitude to bhikkhus (Buddhist monks). Lay Buddhists bring donations to temples, especially new robes for the monks.
A Sunday school which teaches good habbits, and meditation to the innocent children who reside around Bodhgaya, is carried out at this place. Between thousand to thousand five hundred students attend this school to gain help in order to be better citizens. We try our best to offer them a highly valuable education free of charge.
