CANDLE LIGHT OF BODHGAYA
Ven. Horowpothane Kusalacitta Thero
Ven. Horowpotane Kusalachitta Thero, who was a senior student monk of Honorable Kiribathgoda Gnanananda thero, has worked from the beggining as the person who was in-charge of BuddhaGyan Meditation Ashram. Kusalachiththa thero has worked on a Dhamma mission for three years in ‘Bodhgaya Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Vihara’ and took charge of BuddhaGyan Ashram in 2009.
He, who was a much benevolent Monk, was able to teach Buddhism clearly in Hindi language and was able to chant Lord Buddha’s qualities in a tuneful manner. He has generously shared everything that he has gained with other people. By the power of his talent, the Dhamma School, which was started with only four students, was expanded within a short time period up to one thousand five hundred students.
He, who maintained a successful Dhamma service for eight years, departed on the 17th of July 2015 due to a sudden sickness; he provided an unforgettable era to the innocent people who lived around Bodhgaya. Under the guidance of our Honorable Teacher, we attempt our level best to maintain his Dhamma service continuously.
